GREEN RIVER AREA FCU IS YOUR HOMETOWN CREDIT UNION

GRAFCU holds its Annual Membership Meeting in March each year. The Annual Meeting is your chance to meet with other members and the Credit Union's Board, Supervisory Committee, and Staff, and all members are invited to attend. There are refreshments, prizes, and reports on the credit unions progress during the year. It's fun for all who attend, and we encourage you to make plans to attend.

UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION

Keep your contact information (address, phone numbers, email) updated with the credit union so that we may contact you quickly in the event it is necessary. Events such as data breaches that have occurred in recent years with merchants and their processors require timely action to prevent fraud and mitigate risk to our members as well as the credit union. Current contact information can be provided at your local office, or by mail with your signature authorizing the update.

ONLINE BANKING AND ESTATEMENTS

Online Banking is available at GRAFCU! What this means is that you will be able to access your account via your home computer and be able to perform a number of transactions online. For example, you can view an account history, transfer funds from savings to checking or to loan accounts, view and print statements, and set up recurring transfers. Follow the easy directions for enrollment, read the Terms and Conditions, and check the box to select I Agree. You will receive an email when new statements are available beginning with the next statement cycle. If you have any questions one of our Member Service Representatives would be happy to assist!

YOUR MONEY IS SAFE AND SECURE AT YOUR CREDIT UNION

We may not be able to lower the price of gas and groceries, but at GRAFCU, we will do everything we can to protect your money. You can rest assured your money is safe and secure at your Credit Union.

YOUR MONEY IS INSURED

Funds on deposit at GRAFCU are protected by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). NCUA also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). The NCUSIF is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government. Your share insurance is similar to the insurance protection offered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

The NCUSIF provides all members of federally insured credit unions with $250,000 in coverage for their individual accounts. These accounts include regular shares, share (checking) drafts, money market accounts, and share certificates. There is increased coverage for retirement accounts. If you have a regular share account and and IRA at the credit union, the regular share account is insured up to $250,000 and the IRA is separately insured up to $250,000. The coverage on joint accounts is different in that a two person joint account has $500,000 in coverage. This coverage is separate from and in addition to the coverage available for other accounts such as individual and retirement accounts.

Edward B. "Red" Burgess Memorial Scholarship

In honor of Edward B. "Red" Burgess,  Green River Area Federal Credit Union awards to its members and/or their immediate family members two scholarships annually, one in September and one in January.

The scholarship consists of $500.00 for one semester for one person. A person may apply for two semesters, but a second semester will be granted only if that person maintained a "C" average in the first semester. We would also like for the person receiving this scholarship to be a full time student, however should a full time student not apply we would consider a part time student.

If you are interested in applying, contact the financial aid office at Owensboro Community College for an application.

Red opened the first account in 1959 and dedicated many years of time and service to the credit union. As a founder of the Credit Union, Red worked hard to make sure members received the services and the financial assistance they needed. The scholarship was designed to serve as a lasting token of our thanks and appreciation for Red's service.
